DAY 16

The term 'open concept' has never been experienced more vividly than this morning when I walked into a space with no windows in the master bedroom. The sight took me by surprise and I stood there for a few good moments relishing the scene in front of me. The sunlight streamed in amidst the quiet start to the morning and the somewhat panoramic view was priceless. The openings in the other rooms were not as seamless as this one as the main black frames replacing the original old, silver ones had already been installed. If only MJ had been there to savour that moment because he's always wanted a 'panoramic view' somewhere in the house. Unfortunately, this was short lived because by the end of the day, all the new windows were installed.
Not quite seamless since the frames had already been installed.
The old sliding windows were removed.
The study and living room windows.
In with the new...
Out with the old.
Ready for disposal.
A long horizontal window is used in the master bathroom.
A little more context.
Even the small windows were replaced. This one in the study room and another in Meg's room.
The little one in Meg's room.
Frameless opening in the master.
The view outside this opening.
It allowed lots of light to flood the apartment.
A separate permit was required for the removal and installation of windows. This prompted my neighbour to ask me if we have two contractors!
Detail 1.
Electrical cables laid, ready to be concealed.
One last look at this uninterrupted view before it's gone.
