Bathroom Fittings

I arranged for delivery of all our bathroom fittings like our basins, shower sets and accessories for Monday afternoon. Our contractor needed them and also asked for our kitchen sink. I think he's in the process of building the cabinets and needs the sink for measurements. I collected our black shower set from Heritage Bathroom Gallery at Geylang since I was there to buy a tap for the kitchen bathroom sink. This shop offers quite a large variety of bathroom and lights and while the whole atmosphere is quite busy and haphazard, their service and importantly, their prices are very attractive. They give very good discounts even off the discounted price! For example the Aalto tap mixer was $308 at one place we saw it at but here we got it at $168! It's a new piece, not a display set. The shower set was also very reasonably priced so we decided to get everything from there. If you do go, look for Baofen who pays good attention to the customer at hand and gives a good price. So I dropped the shower set, the tap mixer and a Grohe tap which we bought for $80 from Heritage as well. The basins and kitchen sink did arrive this afternoon...my contractor sent me photos of it but I'll drop in tomorrow morning to take some pictures to post. I did not manage to drop by after work tonight.
The rainshower head. It's very light and its material is a little rubbery which can only mean one thing: the rubber coating will deteriorate after some years and it may turn sticky.
The regular shower head which can be hand held or attached to the vertical bar.
The vertical bar of the shower set. The hand held shower head can be attached to this vertical bar with adjustable height.
The $168 Aalto tap mixer. This contraption is very heavy and solid.
Front view.
Top view.
The special listed price was $89 for this particular tap, but Baofen gave us another 10% off that already discounted price. The final price was $80...for a Grohe tap, but if you look at the bottom right of the label, it's actually Made In Thailand! No wonder so cheap! :o(
It's pretty solid and we really only needed a simple one for the bathroom sink, nothing fancy.
Unboxing...
I left the fittings in their respective bathrooms.
In the kitchen bathroom.
Had another look and feel of the smooth, new tiles. I still prefer the original ones.
I was pretty sure the workers would be there today so I bought some buns (again).

There is something wonderfully nostalgic about fitting two Antique Basin Taps rather than a mixer. This pair looks beautifully traditional and functional, but the warm brass is also bang on trend. Unlike a basin Antique Kitchen Taps, these sit up high, so there’s space to wash big pots and pans beneath..
