We began our day at noon with lunch, having missed breakfast from oversleeping. We hit Crepes & Co. a really nice place for what else...Crepes! We've been wanting to have a meal at this French place from two trips ago, but only just managed to get round to it today. The garden area is lush and inviting, and on a cool day, it's nice to have your meal outside. Today was not such a day, so it was air-conditioning for us inside. The crepes are very filling, but it's not a cheap place to have a meal in. Our total bill was around S$51 for two crepes, one kid's crepe, a fried calamari appetizer, a pot of tea and two scoops of sherbert. It's pricey by Thai standards but the crepes are good, service excellent and ambience great. Worth a visit.
Meg's kid's Crepe Poulet had a smiley face. She removed the olives and greens of course...
I had the Crepe Supreme, one of their 'most popular'. It was good...had everything I like...bacon, egg, ham, mushroom in cream, cheese and béchamel sauce. With some difficulty, I finished it, not because it wasn't good, it's just quite huge!

We came across a woman selling fruits from the back of her pick-up truck along Sukhumvit Soi 12. We were walking out to the main road after lunch and chanced upon it. I bought 3 custard apples from her for 35B! It's so difficult to find these unique fruits in Singapore these days. 35B is equivalent to S$1.55 for three big fruits! Where to find?!?! In BKK of course!
We watched Shrek Forever After for the second time, but this time in 3D in an IMAX theatre at Siam Paragon. The 3D effects were very good, very real and didn't give us a headache. It's not cheap though, that accounts for the very empty theatre during the afternoon show we watched. It cost us about S$15.20 per tix for the second best seats in the house. The seats are differently priced according to how near/far they are to the screen. Actually, upon seeing that the theatre was so empty, we should've bought the cheapest tix and just moved up to the top (most expensive seats) when the show started. That's what others did! Ah well, live and learn...
What a perfect way to end the day...with DURIANS!!! I've finally satisfied this urge I've had long before I arrived in Bangkok. I've been dreaming about it, even tasted it in my mouth, with my imagination of course, and now, I've had three of these heavenly, creamy, sweet, fleshy Monthong durians, for real this time. I had to enjoy the fruit at the foodcourt of Siam Paragon, as I didn't want to stink up the hotel room and be embarassed about it when found out.
Many Thais like their durians a little hard, so be sure to look out for the 'soft' tag when buying...they have 'medium' as well.
The damage done: 120 Baht for this pack of three decent sized fruits, equivalent of S$5.25. Every pack is guaranteed quality...where to find?!?! Only in BKK of course!
Meg had some, but didn't manage to finish even a small fruit. Of course I had the pleasure of finishing it up for her.
